MarketPlace at Mill Creek was the first mixed-use development to fulfill the
vision for Gwinnett County's Mall Overlay District. Designed to complement the
Mall of Georgia, the mixed-use node sets new standards for responsible,
mall-peripheral development. The 127-acre community is credited for controlling
growth and avoiding "mall sprawl" in this north Gwinnett region, while creating
a place where people live, work, shop and entertain.
In working with the Mill Creek Community Coalition, the development team also
provided for the protection, conservation and enhancement of the sites' natural
and historic treasures which include the shoals along Ivy Creek and the remains
of a circa 1843 cotton gin.
