The Block transformed 25 acres of vacant land and a deteriorating retail center
into a thriving shopping area and residential community, located in the Telecom
Corridor of Dallas’ Metroplex. For the first time, area residents embraced a
medium-density residential development for their community of older,
single-family homes.
The development team employed a grid system for the 25-building site in order
to integrate both residential and retail components with the surrounding
neighborhoods. The upscale architecture and the master plan accomplish this
with one-story four-plexes providing a buffer from the residential homes and
elevations gradually increasing to three-story buildings deeper into the
development.
