CAMP CREEK MARKETPLACE RETAIL LINE-UP EXPANDS

10/7/2003

North American Properties Announces Phase II Anchor Tenant Commitments

ATLANTA — Camp Creek MarketPlace, Atlanta’s largest retail center since Discover Mills, is growing again. Just three months following the grand opening of Phase I, North American Properties announces its first anchor tenant commitments for Phase II of the 1.2 million-square foot power center — South Fulton’s hot, new shopping destination located at Interstate 285 and Camp Creek Parkway.

“Camp Creek MarketPlace is truly energizing the community,” stated Stephen Lam, partner, North American Properties. “The parking lots, plaza area and store aisles are buzzing with non-stop excitement as residents embrace this new shopping and gathering place. Phase II will continue to capitalize on the exponential growth of this region and respond to South Fulton residents’ continued demand for retail.”

Committed Phase II anchor tenants include: American Signature Home, DSW Shoe Warehouse and Old Navy. Five additional anchor tenants, restaurants and 38,000 square feet of small shop space are also planned for the 400,000-square-foot expansion phase. Phase II will be situated on a 47.5-acre tract immediately adjacent to the west side of Phase I.

“When Phase II is finished, Camp Creek MarketPlace will deliver virtually every amenity to the South Fulton region,” continued Lam. “More than 100 retailers and restaurants will fill the center creating a shopping mecca, as well as a community gathering place.”

The anchor tenant line-up for Phase I includes: Target, Lowe’s Home Improvement, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Marshalls, Ross Dress For Less, Linens ‘N Things, PetsMart, Staples, Cost Plus World Market, Pier 1 Imports, Famous Footwear, Party City and Deal$.

Since the Phase I grand opening in late July, sales figures have exceeded industry expectations. “We expected strong sales, but have been astonished by the extraordinary figures that continue to be posted — proof positive that we have truly tapped into an underserved market that is ready still for more retail,” explained Mark Toro, Lam’s partner, North American Properties.
