NAP TO DEVELOP SHOPPING CENTER IN COOKEVILLE

1/11/2006

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- North American Properties (www.naproperties.com) has begun construction on Cookeville MarketPlace, a 150,000-square-foot shopping center located on 17.5 acres on West Jackson Avenue near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Highway 135 in Cookeville, Tenn. The $10 million development will include a 68,000-square-foot department store, additional anchor tenants, shop space and outparcels. Cookeville MarketPlace is scheduled to open in fall 2006.

“We are excited to begin construction on Cookeville MarketPlace, a shopping center with a line-up of retailers that will enhance the commercial amenities already available in the area,” said Tonya Creekmore, vice president of leasing, North American Properties. “Come next fall, residents and university students will enjoy the experience and convenience of shopping at Cookeville MarketPlace.”

“The rapidly growing Cookeville market is ripe for additional retail development,” continued Creekmore. “With 1,800 new housing units under development and a growing retirement community, current and future residents need quality shopping alternatives located closer to home.”
