The Pine Island Road Corridor Thrives with Top Retailers

CAPE CORAL, FL — PetsMart and Circuit City open their doors at NorthPoint, a 121,000-square foot shopping center in the thriving commercial corridor on Pine Island Road near Pondella Road. These two premier retailers join BJ’s Wholesale Club in offering goods and services to the Cape Coral community.

PetsMart and Circuit City are the latest addition to this growing retail district. Other household names set to join NorthPoint are Ruby Tuesday and Subway. Additional retail space and one outparcel are available.

The booming Cape Coral market is attracting significant retail development. Publix, the area’s preferred grocer, recently announced plans to purchase Albertsons, the grocer immediately adjacent to NorthPoint. In addition, North American Properties has delivered almost a million square feet of retail space to this community. Most recently, Coral Walk, a 300,000-square foot, SuperTarget-anchored center across from NorthPoint, opened its doors.

With the completion of NorthPoint, North American has developed over 1.6 million square feet of retail space in Lee County. Strong demographics make the County a prime location for retailers and restaurants. In 2007, Lee County was ranked as the “Best City for Business” by Inc. Magazine, solidifying the unprecedented growth in the area.
