Aircraft Maintenance Technician


Overview of Job Description

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician works at Lunken Airport in coordination with the Director of Maintenance to maintain the company aircraft as required. Participates in aircraft, avionics, and engine systems and procedures training. The “AMT” takes a leadership role in maintaining company aircraft and facilities in a professional manner. Additionally, a working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, aircraft operating principals, company policy, and passenger carrying concerns shall be demonstrated and practiced at all times. He/She will work with flight crews and other maintenance personnel to co-ordinate moving of passenger vehicles & baggage to and from aircraft, along with servicing and cleaning of the aircraft between flights.

Duties and Responsibilities

In order to perform daily duties and responsibilities, the Aircraft Maintenance Technician must:

  • Ensure that company aircraft are maintained to the highest possible safety standards.
  • Help ensure the company facilities are safe, clean, and adequate for the maintenance of company aircraft.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform all maintenance duties without assistance from personnel
  • Offer timely and appropriate suggestions to the Director of Maintenance and Chief Pilot when, in his or her opinion, flight safety, or compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations may be compromised or in jeopardy
  • Maintain aircraft appearance
  • Comply with Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Comply with and enforce all aspects of company aircraft maintenance policies and procedures
  • Foster good customer relations, along with assisting passengers in any way possible

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Positive attitude that exhibits teamwork, customer service, and commitment
  • Holds an A&P certificate
  • Holds an associate degree or higher
  • Two years practical experience as an active aircraft maintenance technician with experience in the type aircraft assigned or industry equivalent
  • Have the ability and willingness to work in shifts, after hours, or overtime/weekends/holidays
