Overview of Job Description

North American Properties (NAP) is seeking candidates for the Analyst, Capital Markets position out of our Atlanta office. NAP is a privately held, multi-regional real estate company that acquires, develops and manages retail, multifamily, mixed use and office properties across the United States.

The Analyst, Capital Markets would join the team to assist in asset management analysis, modeling acquisitions, closing loans and joint ventures, underwriting, and overall capital markets activity for North American Properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

In order to perform daily duties and responsibilities, the Analyst, Capital Markets must:

  • Underwrite acquisition & development deals for all property types using Excel & Argus software
  • Prepare investment materials, packages, and RFPs for existing and potential investments
  • Conduct market research on existing and future opportunities
  • Review tenant leases, rent rolls, operating statements, tenant recovery statements, and other financial statements used in the underwriting process
  • Work with asset & property managers to update investment projections
  • Prepare & update quarterly presentations for investor board meetings
  • Assist in acquisition & disposition due diligence
  • Assist in debt & equity closing processes
  • Assist in quarterly investor updates and presentation
  • Other ad hoc analyses as required

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • BA/BS in Real Estate, Finance, or Economics from four-year college or university.
  • Strong grasp of financial terms and principles necessary in real estate underwriting (IRR, NPV, Return on Cost, etc.).
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret various types of real estate documents, including leases, contracts and financial statements.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel, ARGUS, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in order to meet deadlines.
  • Team player, strong work ethic and passion to learn about the commercial real estate industry.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism with the ability to react objectively.
