Overview of Job Description

The Marketing and Events Coordinator of Newport on the Levee assists with all aspects of the property’s marketing and event activities relevant to planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies and all property events.

Duties and Responsibilities

In order to perform daily duties and responsibilities, the Marketing and Events Coordinator must:

  • Support the vision of the property, embodying the property brand and living the core values.
  • Coordinate and follow through with project plans for Signature, Seasonal and Third-Party Events with support from Director of Marketing and Social Media Coordinator – including but not limited to logistics meetings, event notifications, on- site presence, event recaps, etc.
  • Assist Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and all other parties to manage expectations for event logistics and inventory of equipment
  • Ideate and curate memorable events, creating compelling activations, event branding, marketing collateral, signage, sponsorship and publicity programs.
  • Focus on improving existing programs/events and processes while assisting in the creation of new and varied programs/events that offer a fresh inviting guest experience.
  • Develop relationships with the properties retail and office tenants; leverages these relationships to build loyalty to the property.
  • Execute hospitality, marketing and event plans on property and off – often requiring evening and weekend assignments.
  • Manage Marketing Event Budget and ensure all expenses are tracked and recorded.
  • Assist Marketing Director with maintaining and updating Newport on the Levee website and create processes for content gathering for internal and external requests, once applicable.
  • Engage and communicate with key community influencers.
  • Assist Marketing Director in providing meeting agendas and meeting minutes for Newport on the Levee Marketing Team and provide for all parties involved.
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned by the Marketing Director.

The Marketing and Events Coordinator serves as a critical member of the team for the property and is therefore expected to interact with internal and external contacts daily, as well as participate in the Manager on Duty rotation, staff meetings and other relevant responsibilities. The Marketing and Events Coordinator must be deadline-driven, detail-oriented and a team player with a positive attitude who demonstrates flexibility. Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and working evening and weekend hours to meet objectives and deadlines

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience Desired in Marketing and Event Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required
  • Graphic Design experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the principles of Marketing
  • Organized, detail-oriented self-starter, able to work independently and part of a group.
  • Must be flexible and able to work weekends, nights and holidays to support peak hours of operation
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining professionalism always
