Director, Risk Management, NAP Executive Staff
Amy Townsend is responsible for North American Properties’ Risk Management program, including the company’s insurance portfolio, claims management and overall risk strategy. A 17-year industry veteran, she brings extensive insurance knowledge and experience, specializing in property and liability insurance as well as workers’ compensation. In 2007, Amy was listed as one of the most influential people in workers’ compensation by SEAK.
Previously, Amy was the Risk Manager for Ashland Chemical, an international chemical manufacturer, and prior to that worked as the Risk Manager for General Cable company, an international wire and cable manufacturer in Northern Kentucky.
Amy holds a degree in Computer Science with a master’s in Business Administration. She is a member of The Risk Management Society (RIMS) and is the president of the Ohio River Valley RIMS Chapter. Amy has her ARM (Associate of Risk Management Professional) and has also earned her RIMS-CRMP (RIMS – Certified Risk Management Professional). The RIMS-CRMP is the only competency-based risk management credential and Amy is one of 650 people worldwide with this credential.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, bike riding, traveling and trying new food. She is always on the hunt for a new local spot or undiscovered gem. She is also a certified Yoga and Pilates teacher and is passionate about the yoga community.
