As Director of Risk Management, Amy Townsend is responsible for placement of the NAP insurance portfolio, claims management and implementation of risk strategies. Amy passionately develops a highly effective risk program for NAP, working with a multitude of departments managing insurance, educating and engaging associates and mitigating risk to protect stakeholder’s assets.
Previously, Amy worked at Ashland Chemical, an international chemical manufacturer, as the Risk Manager, and prior to that, she worked as the Risk Manager for General Cable company, an international wire and cable manufacturer in Northern Kentucky. With over 10 years in the industry, Amy brings extensive insurance knowledge and experience to NAP, including specialization in property and liability insurance as well as workers’ compensation. In 2007, Amy was listed as one of the most influential people in workers’ compensation by SEAK.
Amy is a member of The Risk Management Society (RIMS) for over a decade, is active in her local Ohio River Valley RIMS Chapter and earned her ARM (Associate of Risk Management Professional) designation from the organization.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage daughter, hanging out with friends, bike riding, exercising and yoga, and traveling. She is a foodie, always on the hunt for a new local spot or undiscovered treasure.
