Richard Munger is in it for the long haul. As North American Properties’ managing partner overseeing Atlanta’s multifamily powerhouse, he finds enjoyment in transforming challenging urban sites into vibrant residential communities that hundreds of people will call home. Unlike many other developers, Richard and his team spend a lot of time—sometimes several years—getting to know the neighborhood and key stakeholders so that each unique development will fit seamlessly into and complement the surrounding fabric. Richard also truly loves working within the Atlanta BeltLine corridor and has been a major player transforming sites within the Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park neighborhoods into two of the city’s hottest areas through multifamily and mixed-use development. He listens to community stakeholders and keeps his word, upholding our values of integrity and doing things the right way.
With his extensive multifamily experience, Richard specializes in bringing the Class A and AA apartment lifestyle to fruition through his extensive background in all aspects of development and as a licensed general contractor. He further compliments the technical background with his real estate license, Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) certification and an MBA through the Executive MBA Program with the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Over the last 9 years at NAP, Richard and his team have developed over $650 million of multifamily communities in Atlanta and Nashville, TN. Prior to joining North American Properties in 2010, he led the multifamily development team at Gables Residential Trust in Atlanta and at Worthing Southeast Corporation. A further demonstration of his community involvement, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Historic Old Fourth Ward Park Conservancy and is active on a number of committees for the City of Sandy Springs.
