Shawn McIntyre believes in changing the world one home at a time. Whether he is facilitating medical treatment overseas, building homes with Habitat for Humanity or developing innovative communities for North American Properties, Shawn always prioritizes character and doing the right thing.
Shawn has dedicated the past 19 years to North American Properties, overseeing acquisition, analyzing, planning, permitting and construction of Florida real estate projects. Shawn focuses on bringing innovative student housing concepts, as well as retail centers such as the recently commenced Orlando, Florida based Grand National project. He’s delivered more than 970 student housing beds, and has recently delivered several major projects including The Axis, The Block, The Court and The Deck. The Lumberyard, Assemblage and Fieldhouse are next representing another 1200 student housing beds. All together they represent more than $200 million in investments near Florida State University. Prior to joining North American Properties, McIntyre’s projects included two 400-acre residential golf course communities, a 150-acre commercial/industrial office park and numerous multi-use developments. Shawn started his career in the US Navy.
Outside of his work at North American Properties, Shawn stays busy traveling to impoverished countries to assist in providing medical care and supplies to the underserved population. He also brings his passion for building and developing meaningful places to the board of Habitat for Humanity where he serves as chairman of the Lee and Hendry County Florida board. Shawn and his wife have also personally sponsored new homes for families in need. Through both his work and philanthropic efforts, Shawn serves as a reminder that there are always opportunities to give back and make a difference.
