Founded in 1954 by William J. Williams and James R. Williams North American Properties, a privately owned real estate started with developing the first mall in the region now known as the Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 With great success, growth and financial strength, the Corporate Office expanded its footprint across the US and opened regional offices in Dallas, Texas (1989); Ft. Myers, Florida (1988); and Atlanta, Georgia (1996).

NEWPORT, Ky. -- The Cincinnati-based North American Properties closed on its purchase of Newport on the Levee Friday, the company announced. North American Properties didn't immediately disclose the sale price, but said it in a news release that it plans to invest more than $100 million in the 360,000-square-foot mixed-use property along the Ohio River.

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) - One of the largest commercial real estate developers in Greater Cincinnati has purchased Newport on the Levee. North American Properties purchased Newport on the Levee from the Price Group LLC for an undisclosed amount. Tim Perry, managing partner and chief investment officer with North American Properties, said the total investment in the property, including the acquisition and the redevelopment, will be more than $100 million.

Uptown Rental Properties LLC and North American Properties are planning to partner again to develop a 202-unit apartment building near the University of Cincinnati. Uptown and NAP received unanimous approval from the Cincinnati Planning Commission on Friday morning for a zoning change to planned development district from residential mixed and residential multifamily for a nearly 1.9-acre site in Corryville. Uptown and NAP own the entire block bordered by Donahue, Bellevue, East University and Eden avenues.

During the largest retail real estate convention of the year, the Bankes in downtown Cincinnati and Newport on the Levee drew attention from a number of potential new tenants. North American Properties announced just before the start of RECon that it has a contract to buy Newport on the Levee. Downtown-based North American Properties is still early in the process of acquiring the Levee. All uses and options are being explored.

The recent news that Newport on the Levee is being sold to Cincinnati-based North American Properties is a positive for many reasons, according to Newport city manager Thomas Fromme. “You get a management team that’s closer to this area and knows this region,” Fromme said Monday night at the Newport city commission meeting. “They have a background in dealing with properties like Newport on the Levee. I’ve met with [North American Properties], and they have some good ideas."
