North American Properties (NAP) on Thursday announced industry veteran Mark Fetah has joined the firm as senior vice president and director for the Riverton Master Planned Projects, a $2.5 billion, 5 million-square-foot mixed-use development comprised of 400 acres on the Raritan River in Sayreville. In his new role with NAP, Fetah will be responsible for design, engineering, permitting, approvals, construction and management of the multi-phased Riverton program.

The development site is the former home of paint manufacturer National Lead – a location that sits just off the Driscoll Bridge in Sayreville. Roughly 18 months after developers began revamping Colony Square, Midtown residents will finally see some of the iconic area’s new look. A new 10,000 square-foot urban park, dubbed The Grove, opened Friday along the 14th Street corridor to the public, developer North American Properties announced in a press release. The park includes 40-foot trees, Spanish steps, tables and chairs and will be the gateway for restaurants Main & Main and the iPic dine-in theater.

An $80 million development lining the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail is welcoming its first residents. Called Edge, the 350-unit apartment and retail project from developer North American Properties and Vantage Realty Partners built a new segment of the Beltline, filling a roughly 700-foot gap between Edgewood and DeKalb avenues. It’s also bringing new restaurants, including “Cold Beer” from Chef Kevin Gillespie, to what’s already a popular dining district near Krog Street Market.
